Why do we always end up assuming that there is a purpose in life? That there is a driving force which is taking us 'there'. That we will be 'there' one day and so it is worthwhile to bear with pain and with happiness. We try to look beyond grief and joy realizing that it would all pass. And we endlessly struggle with emotions, winning sometimes but usually losing it to them.
What if joy, grief, happiness, sadness, education, religion, job, kids, marriage, spouse, house, work, internet and everything else that keeps us preoccupied are just designed/invented/created to keep us from realizing that there is no purpose of life. That there is nothing called as 'meaningful existence'. That there is no driving force and it is taking us nowhere. That we are just a dot in the world.

Interesting snaps, very interesting indeed.
Good philosophical questions, but there's just too much negativity involved.
We are a dot, so what? If "joy, grief, happiness, sadness, education, religion, job, kids, marriage, spouse, house, work, internet and everything else" is not meaning of life in itself, then what is?
Achieving, losing, learning from mistakes, growing, surpassing, being left behind and managing emotions as we wade through score of few more such things is what defines life, doesn't it?
Yes achievement of the goal can leave you with a now-what moment -- but then life could be/is to me all about these very same achievements, the many journeys, goals -- in all their forms -- short, long, very long ones.
Fulfillment is NOT equivalent to death -- its what gives meaning: meaning to the journey you just went through to get here, meaning to what you will go after next, start another journey, chase another goal.
Cheers!
I do not agree.....
Negativity is relative. I am being completely objective about it. It is not a state of mind I am trying to portray here. It is exactly what I thought at that time and jotted it down.
Everything said and done....I truly believe that negativity is completely and truly equal to objectivity. A completely negative person is truly objective. You do not have to agree....
